Here is what our customers had to say:

“Rok is a fondue restaurant with a twist, and what a twist it is. Like other fondue places there is the cooking surface in the middle of your table used to enjoy cheese and/or chocolate fondues, but it is the main course that is the WOW feature here. Instead of standard grill or fondue techniques for your entree your item is brought out on a 700 degree rock slab, seared (for meats) or raw for seafoods and veggies. It’s an odd looking thing, but fun and really yummy. The food picks up the most interesting flavors from the rock, and you can cook your items at the speed and to the doneness of your choice. Another fun aspect was the tasting sized wine servings. It allowed us to play a bit with the selections and pairings. Loved it!” OpenTable Diner 11/5/08

The Rok presents Sunnyvale Landscape Photographer, John Harrison, our resident artist.

John is an avid photographer and Silicon Valley marketing professional living in Sunnyvale. John was inspired to create two new series for the Rok Bistro capturing the natural beauty of rock and “Rockscapes” with their unique textures and colors in dramatic lighting and in some of the most beautiful locations. These two new collections are titled “Rock Textures in Point Lobos” and “Rockscapes in the Valley of Fire.”

John included additional pieces from Yosemite to complete the Rok Bistro display. All of the framed artwork here in the Rok Bistro is created by John. John takes many of his vibrant color and black and white Landscape photos within the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as Yosemite, and includes many places such as the San Mateo Coast, Point Lobos, Natural Bridges, Alcatraz, Napa Valley, Redwood National Park, Sausalito, Big Sur, Grand Tetons, Valley of Fire and Pajaro Dunes. Capturing the light and the feelings of being in those places is what John is trying to achieve – “I want to be THERE on a Friday afternoon!”
